We believe that prayer works. It is the foundation underlying every activity within the church. Thus we wish to see people develop a personal and corporate prayer life. We believe that prayer needs to be proactive and thus we encourage to people to pray “at all times and in all things”.

There are prayer meetings on Thursday evenings at the Riverside Centre in Southwell and there are also other ad hoc prayer meetings throughout the week. A Prayer Chain within the church covers emergencies where it is necessary to mobilize numbers of people to pray as a matter of urgency.

We have prayer cover for the leaders and every member of our small groups is covered by the prayers of the leaders. Our ministry teams also cover one another in prayer. We believe that this “Supernatural Communication”, as Rachel Hickson calls it, is absolutely necessary because:-

Prayer is productive in so many ways.
Prayer provides a base for developing a relationship with God.
Prayer protects.
Prayer is positive.
Prayer is particular.
Prayer is personal.
Prayer is powerful.
Prayer should be proactive as well as reactive, thus preventing the difficulties that might occur without it.
Prayer should be practical.

So why not join us at our prayer sessions? If you are not able to join us then please pray where you are and increase the amount of “perfume” going heavenwards.
