Worship

A worship leader singing and playing the guitar Riverside Church

"The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." So states an ancient declaration of the Church . At Riverside, praise and worship is central to all that we do. In the broadest sense all our service to God is an act of worship and therefore our involvment in serving, whether in the church itself or in the community, is worship.

The most obvious view of Riverside worshipping is in the main Sunday meetings where the band leads the congregation in corporate praise and worship. Our aim is that our worship should be: Relevant to the lives of those attending.

Varied - different worship leaders bring their own styles of leading, using the best of all available songs (whether old or new).

Excellent - we work hard to ensure we all give the very best we can.

Challenging - our worship times are frequently used for responding individually to what God is saying to us.

Anointed - this is the most important: there's nothing we can do to "make it happen" except prepare ourselves and allow God to speak. Many times we have seen the extraordinary interventions by the Holy Spirit, touching the lives of those in the congregation.

The worship band meets regularly, and we are always looking for new singers and musicians to work with us. Whilst musical talent is a pre-requisite, it's the joy and privilege of worshipping that we look for.

We hope you find the worship at Riverisde helps you in your relationship with God. In the end however, we worship God because he is worthy of it and we want our worship to reflect His majesty, His mercy, His grace and love.
