Who we are

Identity is concerned with who we are in relationship with the world, others and ourselves. Our identity is formed by our culture, race, talents, religion, social media and so much more. Our home and family continue to shape us even when we have left them many years ago. Identity can be based on self-assessment, such as; I am unattractive, I’m overweight, I will never achieve, I am sub-standard, I’m a loser, I’m a failure because my marriage has broken down, because I failed the 11+ (60 years ago…who remembers that?!). It’s also formed in relationship with God, and it’s easy to forget and miss that part. As the ‘woman with the issue of blood’ found her true identity in Christ, we must do so
